A 30-DAY CHALLENGE FOR ANTI-HUMAN TRAFFICKING ADVOCATES
Get Started
JOINING THE FREEDOM SUMMIT IS EASY
Freedom Summit is a 30-day fundraising challenge beginning on September 1 and ending on September 30.
Freedom Summit participants are encouraged to leverage their network to fundraise in support of The Exodus Road while they participate in a physical or mental challenge to raise awareness of the issue of human trafficking.
Why do we call it Freedom Summit?
When you hear the word summit, you may think of mountain vistas and grueling hikes up challenging terrain. That’s exactly why we chose the name. We recognize how steep and treacherous the journey to freedom can be for survivors of human trafficking. We also know how difficult the path is for those who work to see justice and liberation prevail.
Despite the challenges, we’re committed to endurance in the work of freedom. And when you participate in Freedom Summit, you’ll show your community that you are too!
Step One
Choose to disrupt human trafficking in our world.
Choose the physical or mental challenge you will complete in July and set up your campaign (it only takes 1 minute!). Just like that, you’ll be ready to start raising money to fuel investigations, rescue operations, and aftercare for those caught in trafficking.

Pro-tip: Don’t get too hung up on picking the perfect challenge. Our examples aren’t your thing? No sweat! Get creative with it, and choose an activity that excites you!
Challenge Ideas
Walk, run, or bike 50 miles over the 30 days in honor of the 50 million individuals exploited by human trafficking in our world today.
Ask 50 people in your network to give $5 each to help The Exodus Road perform investigations, provide training to law enforcement, and provide care for survivors.
Train for and run a half marathon while shining a light on the issue of human trafficking on your social media accounts.
Try to raise $250, which can fund the medical care of one survivor of human trafficking at The Exodus Road’s Freedom Home survivor care shelter!
Challenge yourself to read, meditate, or pray for 15 minutes every day while raising funds for the work of investigation.
A good goal is $100, enough to deploy a trained investigator on two nights of operations!
Consider a challenge for all 30 days. Maybe you want to jump rope, do pushups, rollerblade, pogo stick, or play pickleball.
Whatever you choose, commit to doing it every day for 30 days. Then invite your community to help you fund $1,325, the amount needed for one rescue!
Special for Colorado locals.
Hike a 14’er and raise $1,400 to impact anti-human trafficking work with The Exodus Road!

Step Two
Spread the word about your fundraiser.
Once your campaign is set up, tell everyone about it. The more people you tell, the quicker you’ll reach your goal.
Make sure to use #freedomsummit2024 on your social posts and tag @theexodusroad so we can help you spread the word!
Step Three
Celebrate your effort and impact!
After your challenge and campaign is over, it’s time to celebrate! We’ll get to work using your funds to rescue and care for survivors, arrest traffickers, and train communities to protect those vulnerable from ever being trafficked in the first place.
When you’ve met your goal, we’ll also send you an image you can share with your supporters, thanking them for the incredible way they rallied behind your efforts for freedom!

We can't wait to see the creative way you participate!

I’m [your challenge here] in the month of September to raise awareness and funds to fight human trafficking as part of @theexodusroad’s Freedom Summit!!
Did you know that on any given day, 50 million people are being trafficked worldwide? The Exodus Road is doing something about it, and we can join them! Be part of the solution: [your campaign page link]
Human trafficking can seem impossibly big. How can we make a difference against an injustice so massive?
I’ve learned that The Exodus Road has experts who are already on the ground, actively pushing back the darkness of modern-day slavery. So far, they’ve been part of freeing 2,500 survivors of trafficking!
Sometimes all that is needed to free the next survivor are the right resources. I’m asking my community to help me reach my fundraising goal of [insert financial goal here]! Would you consider making a gift?: [your campaign page link]
I’m challenging myself to do something hard this month while raising awareness for and fighting back against human trafficking. Disrupting human trafficking isn’t easy, but it’s rewarding, just like my goal of [insert your personal challenge].
While I’m participating in my challenge, I’m raising funds to make a tangible impact in the fight against trafficking. The Exodus Road is an experienced and trustworthy organization that has been doing this work for over 10 years. Will you make a gift to my fundraiser and help them find and free trafficked women, men, and children around the world?: [your campaign page link]
50 million people are being trafficked today.
Traffickers make $236 billion in profits every year.
12.5 million trafficked people are kids.
These numbers are big. But so is our ability to make a change.
I really believe that each one of us has a responsibility to use what we have to fight back against trafficking. That’s why I’m participating in Freedom Summit with The Exodus Road, raising awareness and funds to disrupt the darkness of modern-day slavery. It would mean so much to me if you’d join me in doing something about this urgent need: [your campaign page link]
One of the things I love about The Exodus Road is that they share real stories about their work fighting human trafficking. It’s such a great assurance that they’re actually doing something about the issue— not just talking about it.
One of those recent stories was about 4 young women in Latin America. They all had been trafficked to countries far from home, pursuing false promises of glamorous jobs. Instead, their traffickers forced them to work in brothels, drugging and abusing them to keep them controlled.
But The Exodus Road’s team heard about the case and managed to get in contact with the girls. They walked them through an incredible escape plan and made sure safe lodging and the support of therapists were waiting as soon as the girls made it home.
That is the kind of story you get to be a part of when you join me in supporting The Exodus Road’s work! I’d appreciate any gift you can make in support of my fundraiser: [your campaign page link]
In case you haven’t heard yet, all month I’ve been participating in The Exodus Road’s Freedom Summit to raise awareness and funds for the fight against human trafficking. Trafficking is a complex topic, but sharing the reality of trafficking can equip people to protect each other. Education actively prevents trafficking!
For example, did you know that these are the kinds of vulnerabilities that traffickers usually exploit?
– Poverty and economic need
– Dysfunctional families
– Kids in foster care
– Migrant/immigrant status
– Mental or physical disorders
– Limited education
– Language barriers
Stopping traffickers from exploiting vulnerable people is part of why I’m participating in this challenge. Join me by donating today! [your campaign page link]
These are some real quotes from survivors of sex trafficking who The Exodus Road has supported in their journey to freedom:
“This is the first time someone has done something for us without wanting us to do horrible things.”
“I feel like I have a new beginning.”
“I feel freedom, truly.”
“I get to think, what is next for me? I’m so thankful to be free to think that.”
“I feel like I can finally overcome my fear.”
I’m supporting The Exodus Road in continuing to bring freedom to survivors like these. Will you make a donation to my fundraiser? Every dollar helps! [your campaign page link]
