One teenager freed, another teenager who exploited her peers arrested in Thailand

A teenage girl in Thailand had been operating a profitable business model: she would broker deals with clients and private parties, sending women and girls to be sexually exploited as entertainment. She profited greatly from trafficking these innocents.

It might be hard to understand how a teenager could enact this kind of abuse against her peers. The truth is that this kind of behavior can easily be culturally normalized by bad influences in teenagers’ lives, and desperation for a steady income can make it easy to justify terrible actions. Often, teenagers who traffic their peers were first trafficked themselves, or are caught up in an operation much bigger than them.

The local police department has developed a passion for fighting back against human trafficking. They tried to prove that this trafficker was exploiting other minors, but were not able to gather evidence. That’s when they called on The Exodus Road: can you help us put a stop to this?

The Exodus Road’s team stepped in and began expertly building evidence that would allow their police partners to act. Once they had everything they needed, police moved in to recover the teenager who was currently being trafficked. 

Proactivity from police partners made it possible to disrupt this trafficking operation. Even though the trafficker attempted to deny all complicity, The Exodus Road’s team had collected undeniable evidence.
