A 3-year-old and a 14-year-old girl have been rescued from online sexual exploitation in the Philippines.
There’s an island in the Philippines known for its extreme beauty — but also for the prevalence of the online sexual exploitation of children. Many of the families on the island live in extreme poverty. Tragically, some caregivers have found that subjecting their children to online sexual exploitation is an easy way to make money.
The Exodus Road heard from law enforcement in the Philippines that they received a tip about a European man receiving offers for sexual abuse content of minors in the Philippines. They requested The Exodus Road’s help.
Thanks to this partnership, a 3-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl have been rescued. The mother of the 3-year-old and a man were arrested for the trafficking of minors. The Exodus Road helped plan the logistics of the raid, while also providing support for aftercare for the girls.
Cases like this are heartbreaking. But we are so thankful for the people dedicated to freeing children experiencing abuse and exploitation.
