Trafficking crime involves multiple kinds of actors. There are the traffickers: those who profit from the labor of others. There are the survivors: those who are exploited at the traffickers’ hands. And there are the buyers: those who knowingly or unknowingly purchase sex or services from individuals who are not offering them willingly.
In rare cases, we are able to take part in addressing each of these three groups. That was the case in a recent operation in Thailand.
Three girls were being exploited by a network of traffickers, their s-xual abuse sold to a wide range of buyers. There was a dire need to get these children to safety.
The Exodus Road’s investigators provided key information that allowed police to do exactly that, recovering the children and arresting seven perpetrators. But the case didn’t stop there. The police had enough information to pursue five of the men who had been buying time to abuse minors, arresting them as well for their role in fueling the abuse of these teenage girls.

During the tumultuous events, one of The Exodus Road’s social workers was present to support the kids as they found safety in government shelters. Because of The Exodus Road’s community, this case has come to justice for each of the groups involved. Thank you for making that multi-angled approach to the fight possible!
