Our team in Thailand has been working for more than a year to crack this case.
There is a well-known Twitter group that sells monthly memberships to view online sexual exploitation of children — known to many as child pornography.
Our investigators found that two traffickers, a 24- and a 28-year-old man, were making more than $1,300 a month selling this content. They would groom and manipulate boys aged 15 to 18 using psychological abuse, including false promises and deception.
This is a new type of case for our Thai team, and it required meticulous and thorough case-building in order to equip Thai law enforcement with the evidence they needed to act.
Thanks to the determination of our teams and your support, these two men who were profiting from the abuse of boys have been arrested. They face six to 15 years in prison and fines from $15,000 to $39,000. What’s more, 3 boys were freed from the abuse of their traffickers.
Thank you for your standing with us for a world in which children aren’t bought, sold, or exploited.
