March 11, 2025 Update: Two Traffickers Arrested!
CASE UPDATE: Two traffickers have been arrested! Because of teenage survivor Meaw’s brave testimony despite significant trauma, our investigators were able to pursue her traffickers and help law enforcement bring them into custody — even though one had fled to a remote monastery to hide. This man and woman will not be able to abuse any other teenager the way they harmed Meaw.
Meaw* was just a teenager — and she was outnumbered. An older man and woman had ganged up on her, partnering to traffick her for sex in Thailand. The traffickers forced her to meet paying clients in nondescript hotel rooms.
One day, Meaw was sent to what seemed like just another illegal meetup. Her traffickers couldn’t even bother to go with her; one of them made excuses, claiming she wasn’t feeling well. But these adults had so abused their power that Meaw lived in fear of them. They knew she would do what they demanded, even if they weren’t physically with her.
Meaw showed up at the hotel room, anticipating another traumatic hour with abusers. But this time, it was her traffickers who were outnumbered and outsmarted: law enforcement and The Exodus Road’s team of investigators were waiting for her. We’d found out about her exploitation, passed intelligence to law enforcement, and urged them to extract her from the situation immediately.
Despite the shock of suddenly having her reality turned inside out, Meaw offered clear testimony to police. Officials are working to expand the case so they can level the strongest charges possible at Meaw’s traffickers, charges that include the creation of online Child Sexual Abuse Material as well as sex trafficking.
Meaw is safe now, receiving restorative aftercare — which is only possible because of your support. Thank you!
