Core to the success of the case was one of The Exodus Road’s female investigators. She infiltrated areas that would have been more difficult for male colleagues to access. Her careful intelligence-gathering proved crucial in the case’s development.
Women who were trafficked through this network were often controlled through psychological manipulation, debt bondage, and the use of sedating psychoactive drugs. As they were trafficked for sex to men from far away, their mental health suffered.
