Anyone who has authority over children has a greater chance of harming them. That could include family members, clergy, community leaders, or even teachers and coaches. This was the case for several kids recently freed in Latin America.
These kids were part of a sports program, which should have been a place for them to play and bond with fellow young athletes. Instead, one of their coaches was sexually abusing them on camera, then selling those videos for his personal gain. He sold the resulting videos to buyers in over a dozen countries.
The Exodus Road’s investigators across multiple countries collaborated on this urgent cyber investigation in support of local law enforcement. They were able to make contact with the perpetrator and confirm the crimes he was committing against these kids.
The evidence provided by cyber investigators allowed law enforcement to locate the perpetrator and arrest him. They seized his devices, laptops, and cell phones full of the child sexual abuse material he had produced.

Meanwhile, the children he had abused were left emotionally scarred and traumatized. They were immediately taken into the care of family services to receive restorative care.
This case is a sobering reminder that any adult in a position of power can abuse that power. Through your support of The Exodus Road, you are restoring freedom and safety to kids like these. Thank you!
